Money-saving tools
Free tools that help UK households work out whether a switch or a deal is genuinely worth it, built on live data with the caveats spelt out. I’m adding more over time.

Every tool here runs on real, current data rather than round numbers. The Octopus calculator pulls live tariff rates from Octopus’s public API and compares them against the Ofgem price cap for your region, so the figure you see reflects today’s prices, not last year’s. Monzo publishes no API, so the plan picker runs on figures read off Monzo’s own comparison page and re-read on the monthly pass, with the date they were last checked on the page.
I show my workings and flag the assumptions, because a savings number is only useful if you can see what sits behind it. For how I test and maintain everything on the site, read the methodology.
