Zilch referral code
Get £5 in Zilch rewards when you sign up and verify your ID using a refer-a-friend link.
Zilch's refer-a-friend scheme gives both parties £5 in rewards once the new customer verifies their ID and is issued a Zilch card. The credit lands within 10 working days of approval. I signed up with a referral code in 2025, and the £5 appeared in my rewards balance shortly after my identity check cleared.

My rating for this deal
This rates the Zilch referral itself: what you get, what you have to do to get it, and how long it takes to arrive. It isn’t a rating of Zilch as a company.
Why this rating
Applies to the first purchase with no spending threshold in front of it, which suits a product most people try once before committing to it. It is one of the smallest rewards here, and ten working days is slow for a credit that size.

Because the card is a Mastercard rather than a retailer tie-up, the £5 spends about anywhere: supermarkets (Tesco, Sainsbury's, Aldi, Lidl), online retailers (Amazon, ASOS, eBay), food delivery (Deliveroo, Uber Eats, Just Eat), subscriptions (Spotify, Netflix, Disney+), and any high street shop with a card terminal. What you cannot do is withdraw it as cash.
What are Zilch reward points?
Zilch rewards are a spending balance, not a points currency you convert. Pay for a purchase in full and 2% of it lands in that balance, and the balance then comes off a later purchase made through the app.

You cannot withdraw rewards to a bank account, and they only spend inside Zilch. So the 2% is money off your next Zilch purchase rather than cash back in your current account. My sign-up reward and the 2% I earn on pay-in-full purchases land in the same balance.
Who is Zilch best for?
Zilch is best for people who want flexible payment options at any retailer. The interest-free 6-week plan suits occasional larger purchases, while the 2% pay-in-full cashback beats most debit cards. Use responsibly to avoid overspending.

A word of caution: if you are prone to overspending, be careful with any BNPL service. The ease of splitting payments can make it tempting to buy more than you planned.
How Zilch compares to other BNPL services
Zilch works everywhere Mastercard is accepted; Clearpay needs partner retailers, and so does Klarna unless you take a Klarna Card. Zilch's £5 sign-up reward needs only an ID check, while Klarna's £10 needs a paid monthly plan and 3 purchases of £10 or more.

- Cashback: Zilch's 2% cashback on upfront payments is unique in the BNPL space
- Payment schedule: Zilch splits into 4 payments over 6 weeks; Klarna Pay in 3 is 3 payments over 60 days
- Sign-up reward: Klarna's paid plan starts at £4.99 a month with the first month free, and the 3 qualifying purchases have to land within 30 days. Klarna also pays whoever referred you £40, four times the £10 you get; Zilch pays both sides the same £5. Klarna figures checked August 2026 on Klarna's refer-a-friend page (opens in new tab), which sets them per campaign and can change them.
