Surfshark is the VPN I have personally paid for and used since May 2022, and four years on (as of 2026) it is still the one I would recommend to most UK households: audited no-logs privacy, unlimited devices on one subscription, and a price well below ExpressVPN, with the genuine trade-offs that speeds dip a little and the renewal price jumps after your first term.
Surfshark's refer-a-friend scheme (they call it Refer & Earn) gives both the new customer and the referrer up to 3 free months of subscription, triggered after the new customer's first 31 days.
